The Power of a Teddy Bear

For most children, a teddy bear is a toy. 

For a child with cancer, it can be comfort during uncertainty, courage in a new place, and a reminder that someone cares. 

Nearly 10 years ago, Emma Mann founded Emma's Peace Bears in honor of her late Aunt Julie. Since then, she has donated hundreds of bears to children battling cancer, including 100 every summer to campers at Camp Little Red Door. 

As campers arrive each year, one of the first things they receive is an Emma Peace Bear—complete with a handwritten note of encouragement. It's a simple gift that quickly becomes a cherished companion throughout the week. 

Emma's kindness is proof that compassion doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes, changing a child's day—or even their life—starts with a teddy bear.
